Duijvelaar Pumps develops and manufactures stainless steel centrifugal pumps and pressure boosting systems. The company is the market leader in the Netherlands in pressure boosting for drinking water. We support them in optimising & digitising their business processes. Over the past five years, we have provided vertical integration from shop floor to general ledger for Duijvelaar.
Some 100,000 pumps and installations are produced annually for customers around the world. Thanks to an advanced automated production process, Duijvelaar has no pumps in stock, but can produce virtually any pump directly to order. Through a strong dealer network, they export, under the name DP-Pumps, to more than 100 countries. Besides pumps and installations for drinking and process water, Duijvelaar Pumps also supplies a wide range of pumps and installations for waste and sewage water and circulators for heating, climate and cooling.
For Duijvelaar Pumps, we take care of optimising and digitising business processes. After a successful collaboration with the supplier who had also provided the implementation, Duijvelaar felt the need to put more emphasis on continuity around process automation and optimisations. With our focus on continuity, we turned out to be the ideal partner. Over the past five years, we have provided vertical integration from shop floor to general ledger for Duijvelaar. Because Duijvelaar works with the best-of-breed strategy, we have implemented optimisations in the field of integrations (linking systems), realising breakdowns within warehouse processes and setting up additional functionalities. We also implemented various updates for Duijvelaar. This included test and configuration work. We are currently supporting an upgrade, in which we are making adjustments to the software.
The fact that Duijvelaar has been our partner for more than five years is a great example of how, for us, a long-term relationship is more important than a contract. "For more than five years, we have been working with Enshore in various projects. During this cooperation, we have good monthly contact." So states Niels Breedijk, ICT manager at Duijvelaar. "Due to Enshore's growth in recent years, there have been a number of changes of contact. Despite this, the contact has always remained good and low-threshold. Enshore offers what I find important in a collaboration with an organisation. In this, we see Enshore more as a partner than a supplier, in which flexibility and thinking along with us are paramount."

An example of an optimisation we have implemented for Duijvelaar is the development of a customised extension to connect existing systems. Duijvelaar came to us with a request to improve a sales order interface so that Oracle E-Business Suite would work better with new XML messages to and from SAP. An interface already existed, but it used an outdated format and showed defects.
The challenge of this project was to improve the error handling of the old interface in a short time. Sometimes errors were not intercepted, which meant that order information could disappear somewhere in the processing process without giving a warning to users. When errors did get intercepted, they were difficult to retrieve.
Together with de Duijvelaar, we scrutinised the XML orders and coordinated how they should be validated. What information was mandatory and what exactly were the requirements for each field? The orders are now checked extensively beforehand. Furthermore, we designed an error handling mechanism. As soon as an error occurs, the exact error is immediately sent by e-mail to the user. This highlights all relevant order data and the XML file of the order is attached. Errors can be intercepted and resolved faster through this solution.
