The first six months as an ERP Consultant

A review of the traineeship

In this blog, our colleague Stephanie looks back on her Traineeship as ERP Consultant. In it, Stephanie talks about how she ended up at Enshore and takes you through her experience of Enshore, the Traineeship, and her day-to-day work!

Time for Enshore

I have been working in the government for the past 10 years and I noticed that I was out of place here. I have always been interested in IT but had no training or work experience in it. As a result, I thought I would not be able to get a job in IT right away and did not apply for it. In my spare time, I built websites and did a course in web design and programming.

Applying for a job at Enshore

I was looking at a new IT course when I also started looking for another job. I came across Enshore's vacancy for the traineeship to become an ERP Consultant and saw that there were no hard requirements for the traineeship in terms of a certain IT education or experience. After I sent Enshore a message, I had a video interview with Nathalie and this felt right from the start. What appealed to me about applying is that Enshore looks at me as a person, rather than just my CV. The application process also felt much more personal to me than applying to other companies.

Traineeship

I am now six months into the traineeship ERP-Consultant and I am still very happy with this choice! For me, the traineeship is a perfect match between learning and working. At Enshore I get a lot of responsibility and I learn by doing, which suits me well. I get a lot of freedom in how I organise my hours and my work. I often work at home, but I can also regularly be found at our new office.

ERP consultant at Enshore

As an Oracle consultant, I work in an existing system where a lot of personalisation and customisation is possible. I don't just solve incidents, but also look at users' wishes and needs to facilitate daily operations as well as possible. Because so much customisation is possible at Oracle, there are not many standard solutions you can stick to while working. I often make use of my colleagues' knowledge and we can see each other's notes. What I like about my colleagues at Enshore is that nobody looks down on each other and we help each other along. This makes for a very nice working atmosphere!
